Initially, Grant found Rolfing and bodywork in his early 20's as he was participating at the international level in the sport of Biathlon. He found that the regular bodywork helped him stay injury free and more in touch with his movement and kinesthetic sense of self, which in turn helped immensely in achieving his goals in sport. The positive effects he experienced personally through bodywork led him to study Rolfing, ultimately receiving his Rolfing® certification from the European Rolfing Association in Munich, Germany in 2002.

Grant received his first Rolfing 10-series while he was a member of the US Biathlon National team, and while he found the experience interesting he did not at the time feel a profound catharsis as some folks report. However, looking back, that first 10-series played a big role in shaping the course of his life. For Grant, the 10-series awakened his inner creativity and he began drawing, writing and creating very near the time of the Rolfing sessions, activities that he had not much engaged with previously. This newly realized passion was so strong that Grant ended up pursuing a BFA in Photography at the San Francisco Art Institute in California. To this day Grant enjoys being creative by visiting galleries and museums, playing the clawhammer banjo, cooking and playing with his one year old! And ultimately feels that his training as a Rolfer and artist helps him to think creatively to solve the issues his clients are looking to address.
Grant and his family have recently moved back to Minneapolis from the Bay Area. As a Minnesota native Grant is excited to show his family the beauty of the place he grew up… the beauty of four seasons, the unique pleasure of cozily sitting on your front porch as it thunders and pours, the crisp embrace of winter and the warmth of Minnesotans.
